According to new allegations from a informant, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, currently serving a two-decade sentence for trafficking offenses, is reportedly preparing a commutation application for consideration by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a source provided information indicating the inmate is working on the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, stated in a official statement that the facility's chief was assisting the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to aid her effort for executive mercy.

The exact content of the clemency request remain unclear, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for her and her visitors.

These meetings allegedly include a designated private space for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and chance of unmonitored communications.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, she was given specific instructions about who she should tell her associates to contact and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told House Democrats that when the convict wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she “essentially used” the official as her private aide.

The statement states that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the warden, who would hand them over to the inmate, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the warden to scan and provide to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Other privileges allegedly granted to Maxwell include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as private after-hours access to the prison exercise area.

Her legal counsel did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the insider's allegations.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the spokesperson added.

Context and Developments

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Maxwell told friends and family in electronic messages that she was more content at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

This past summer, Maxwell was transferred from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most inmates are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was interviewed about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the deputy attorney general, the official, who also previously served as Donald Trump's private attorney.

This questioning came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around the President's own personal ties to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, Raskin also revealed that he had sent a letter to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the president to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” the representative stated in the letter. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any special treatment or institutional privilege at all.”

Raskin requested that Blanche attend a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

Raskin asked whether Trump had talked about a possible clemency for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to arrange her with the move or special conditions in prison, and whether she, her attorneys, family or agents have made any promises to the President or his legal team.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an appeal from Maxwell on her sex-trafficking conviction.
